About Wilsonville Veterinary
Wilsonville's first veterinary clinic was built on the corner of Barber and Boberg as a predominantly equine hospital in 1973. Ray and Lynn Calkins purchased the small animal hospital and practice in 1976 when the population of Wilsonville was less than 500 with only one stop sign in town. Barber St. was gravel and dead-ended at the railroad tracks. Boberg was just a dirt road and pheasants occupied the fields around. The clinic Irish Wolfhound, Niña, wandered the building freely with Tiger, the clinic cat. As the community grew, more space was needed and the equine area was remodeled to develop the dental area and radiology. An additional remodel in 2003 expanded the reception area and added exam rooms for the new veterinarians.

In March 2011, Jennifer Anderson and Kristen Hardinge, both longstanding associates of the clinic, and Cheryl Lopate, owner of Reproductive Revolutions, purchased the clinic from the Calkins. The practice has a strong base of both pet owners and breeders. Dr. Lopate is a board certified reproductive specialist (theriogenologist) and there is a boarded surgeon who comes to the clinic to perform surgeries that are beyond the expertise of our general practitioners. Many of the staff remained with the clinic through the transition in ownership and we have added many great new employees as the clinic has continued to grow.
The practice’s mission statement is “to treat every pet as if it were our own and every client like family”. We seek to practice current and innovative medicine and surgery, providing excellent patient care, along with great client education.
